If you were around in the late sixties, if you see a photo of Greg Morris or hear his name, you can't help but have the Mission Impossible theme music start running through your mind. He repeated his role in three episodes of the 1988 version working with his son, playing his father. He also co-stared on the TV show Vega$ (That's right. With a dollar sign.) playing a private investigator. He also appeared in over 60 other TV shows.
I worked with Greg on a Seattle traffic safety film together with Jessica Walter. From the moment he arrived on the set he was fun and professional, always with a good word and a funny story. When the camera rolled, he snapped into his role of co-host and narrator and never missed a line.
When we were finished filming we went to the van to drive Greg to his hotel finding a flat tire. I was in the process of changing it when when Greg said, "I'd like to help you, Paul. But I think I'll stand her and watch." I faked anger, threw down the tire iron, walked up to him and said, "I don't care how famous you are, if your first show was called 'Mission Fairly Difficult', you wouldn't be here." I'll never forget how he bent over with laughter out in that dark parking lot.
